Ducks' Manson fined for throat-slash gesture - NHL Round Up

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Josh Manson has been fined $2,486.56 for an inappropriate gesture aimed at Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri, the NHL announced Friday.

The incident occurred at 17:17 of the third period in Toronto's 6-5 overtime victory against Anaheim at the Air Canada Centre on Thursday night. Manson was assessed a game misconduct.
Manson was upset about being rammed into the glass by Kadri. Manson was ejected after making a throat-slash gesture toward Kadri.
The fine was the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

The Dallas Stars signed defenseman Niklas Hansson to a three-year, entry-level contract, beginning with the 2016-17 season.
Hansson, 21, also signed an amateur tryout agreement for the remainder of the season with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League. He is scheduled to report to Dallas' AHL affiliate next week.
Hansson registered 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) in 44 regular-season games with HV71 of the Swedish Hockey League, the highest division of professional hockey in Sweden.

Leivo, 22, has scored five goals in 12 games with the Maple Leafs this season while collecting 40 points (14 goals, 26 assists) in 45 games with the Marlies.

The Winnipeg Jets recalled defenseman Brenden Kichton on an emergency basis from the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.
Kichton, 23, has played in 62 games for Manitoba this season, leading the team in points with 34 (nine goals, 25 assists) along with 36 penalty minutes.

The Buffalo Sabres signed forward Eric Cornel to an entry-level contract, the team announced.
Cornel served as captain of the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League this season. He ranked eighth among all OHL players with 56 assists and tied for 13th in the league with 83 total points.))
