00:46 - And that's that!

Ighalo to United - Who saw that coming!? It's been an intriguing Deadline Day - check out our Done Deals page above to see who your club signed.

00:24 - Bowen cannot wait to get started

00:10 - Solskjaer on Ighalo

The Norwegian told the club's official website: “Odion is an experienced player. He will come in and give us an option of a different type of centre-forward for the short spell he’s staying with us.
“A great lad and very professional, he will make the most of his time here.”

00:00 - Deadline Day wrapped up

Manchester United made a surprise late addition to their squad on deadline day by bringing in 30-year-old Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo on loan from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.
There were, however, no eye-catching major deals in the final 24 hours of transfer activity for European clubs which continues the trend of recent January windows.
None of the top four in the Premier League made any late moves at the conclusion of a low-key month, with some of the players who had been linked with possible deadline day moves staying put after proposed deals failed to materialise.
France's World Cup winner Olivier Giroud remains at Chelsea despite reported interest in the ex-Arsenal striker from several clubs surprisingly including London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Wales international Gareth Bale, left out of the Real Madrid squad again for this weekend, was also rumoured to be a possible Spurs target but stays with the Spanish club.
Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani, who had been linked with Chelsea and David Beckham's new Major League Soccer club Inter Miami also ended the day staying put at Paris St Germain.
Ighalo, who will offer cover for United's injured forward Marcus Rashford, has Premier League experience having scored 33 goals in 82 games for Watford before moving to Chinese Super League club Changchun Yatai and then Shanghai.
Struggling West Ham United brought in highly-rated striker Jarrod Bowen from Championship club Hull City, while Sheffield United followed up the signing of Sander Berge with the capture of Dutch goalscorer Richairo Zivkovic.
Zivkovic joins Chris Wilder’s high-fliers on loan from Chinese club Changchun Yatai but the Blades have an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

CONTINENTAL DEALS

The biggest deal on the continent saw Borussia Dortmund sign Germany midfielder Emre Can from Italian champions Juventus, bringing in the former Liverpool player in a deal that could be worth up to 25 million. The 26-year-old joins the Bundesliga side initially on a loan deal until June.
Barcelona snapped up Portuguese forward Francisco Trincao from Braga for 31 million euros - the Spanish champions said in a statement on Friday.
The club also announced the signing of 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder Matheus Fernandes from Palmeiras for a fee of seven million euros, which could reach 10 million with add-ons.
Trincao, 20, will join on July 1 and sign a contract until June 2025 containing a release clause of 500 million euros.
Belgium winger Yannick Carrasco has returned to Atletico Madrid on loan until the end of the season, just under two years after leaving the club to move to China.
Ianis Hagi, son of Romanian great Gheorghe, joined Scottish side Rangers on a six-month loan from Belgian club Genk.

23:47 - Bowen officially announced

23:37 - DG gives us the confirmation

23:30 - Aston Villa sign Baston

23:25 - Ravel is buzzing

23:13 - It's official!

The deadline may have passed but the transfer was done in time. Jarrod Bowen has signed for West Ham, according to Sky Sports.
West Ham will pay an up-front fee believed to be £18m, with up to £7m in potential add-ons.

23:00 - WINDOW SHUTS!

The 11pm deadline has passed. Deals can still come through however, as long as the deal sheets were filled out before 11pm.

22:51 - DONE DEAL!

Aston Villa have announced the signing of Borja Baston on a free transfer from Swansea.

22:45 - Countdown to deadline

The deadline is in 15 minutes. Are there going to be any late surprises?
At the moment it looks like it will just be the announcements for Odion Ighalo and Jarrod Bowen.

22:38 - Wickham returns for third Owls spell

Connor Wickham is back at Sheffield Wednesday.
After loan spells with the club in 2012/13 and 2013/14 he has joined on loan again from Crystal Palace.

22:33 - Bristol City secure Benkovic

Leicester defender Filip Benkovic has joined Bristol City on loan.

22:30 - Ighalo a done deal

Seems like Manchester United have got Odion Ighalo. The Athletic and the BBC are reporting the deal is completed...

22:25 - Rangers get Kamberi in swap

Rangers have signed striker Florian Kamberi from Hibernian, with Greg Docherty moving in the other direction. Both deals are loans until the summer.

22:23 - Lossl returns to Huddersfield

Goalkeeper Jonas Lossl has left Everton to return to Huddersfield on loan. He spent two years with the Terriers from 2017-19.

22:20 - Baggies sign Peltier

West Brom, who are bidding for automatic promotion from the Championship, have signed defender Lee Peltier on a free transfer from Cardiff.

22:15 - Ighalo, Bowen still not done

The wait goes on for confirmation of Odion Ighalo to Manchester United and Jarrod Bowen to West Ham.
Remember they might be announced after 11pm as moves can be completed as long as the deal sheet is submitted by the deadline.

22:05 - Stoke sign Oakley-Boothe

Tottenham youngster Tashan Oakley-Boothe has left to join Stoke.
The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Championship club.

22:00 - DONE DEAL!

As the countdown clock ticks past one hour to go, Leicester have made their first signing of the month.
The Foxes have signed defender Ryan Bennett on loan from Wolves for the rest of the season.

21:50 - All the done deals

It might have been a relatively quiet deadline day - so far at least - but there have been a few deals done in January.

21:35 - Duffy joins Pardew's Den Haag

Sheffield United's Mark Duffy has been recalled from his loan spell at Stoke, and will now join Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag, who are managed by Alan Pardew.

21:30 - Bowen to sign in next hour

One of the last two remaining big transfers is close to completion.
Jarrod Bowen is set to finalise his move from Hull to West Ham in the next 60 minutes, according to Sky Sports News.

21:10 - Could Ighalo arrival be delayed?

One factor that could affect the Odion Ighalo deal is the outbreak of the coronavirus in China.
Ighalo is currently in China where travel has been restricted and some flights suspended to try and slow the spread of the virus.
If Ighalo's arrival does get delayed then the positive for United is that after playing Wolves tomorrow they don't have another game until February 17 as they are on their winter break.

21:00 - Two hours left

Will United get Odion Ighalo before the 11pm deadline? And will West Ham secure Jarrod Bowen?

20:50 - United agree Ighalo terms

It looks like Manchester United are closing on Odion Ighalo...

20:43 - Morrison joins Boro

Middlesbrough have signed Ravel Morrison on loan from Sheffield United until the end of the season.
This is Morrison's 10th club since leaving Manchester United in 2012.
Boro head coach Jonathan Woodgate said: "He has a desire to do well and succeed, and that attitude fits in with in well with our ethos here. I met him this week, we had a really good talk, and I think he we will be really good addition to our squad."

20:30 - Honda 'demands bullet-proof car'

You might have heard about some outlandish contract demands, but what about a bullet-proof car?
Brazilian media say Keisuke Honda demanded exactly that before he signed a deal to play for Botafogo, who are based in Rio de Janeiro where the homicide rate is many times higher than in Europe or Japan.

20:10 - Yoshida leaves Southampton

Maya Yoshida has called time on his Southampton career.
The defender has left to join Sampdoria on loan for the rest of the season, ahead of his contract expiring in the summer. He made 194 appearances for Saints.

19:52 - Morrison medical

Ravel Morrison is undergoing a medical at Middlesbrough ahead of a loan move from Sheffield United.
Morrison joined the Blades in the summer from Swedish side Ostersund, but the 26-year-old has played just four times for Chris Wilder's side, with his last appearance coming in the 2-1 win over AFC Fylde on January 5.

19:50 - DONE DEAL!

RSC Anderlecht's Alexis Saelemaekers has signed for AC Milan on loan until the end of the season!

19:45 - DONE DEAL!

Wait, has this been synchronised?
After no deals for ages, we have three in quick succession as Sheffield United have signed Greece defender Panos Retsos from Bayer Leverkusen on an initial loan deal until the end of the season.

19:40 - DONE DEAL!

And another one! Youngster Luke Matheson has joined Wolves from Rochdale.
The 17-year-old, who scored against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup in September, will spend the rest of the season on loan at Rochdale before joining Wolves.

19:35 - DONE DEAL!

An actual signing!
Brighton have made their first new addition of the month, bringing in defender Tariq Lamptey from Chelsea on a deal until 2023.
The 19-year-old made his Chelsea debut earlier this season.

19:30 - Ighalo to United is '50-50'

After missing out on Josh King it looks like Manchester United's attention is firmly on former Watford striker Odion Igahlo, who now plays for Shanghai Shenhua.
But with time running out, SSN say it's 50-50 whether the move gets completed on time.
Not sure an eleventh hour move for Ighalo inspires too much confidence in United's current direction.

19:10 - Bowen passes medical

Sky Sports News are reporting that Hull's Jarrod Bowen has passed a medical with West Ham and is on his way to the London Stadium to meet manager David Moyes.

19:00 - Four hours remaining

Still not a whole load happening, I must be honest. Today's big stories so far are:

18:50 - Damned United

It doesn’t matter whether the deal for Josh King goes through or not, the fact it is even an option speaks volumes for Manchester United’s ineptitude in the transfer market.

18:35 - No Milan move for Robinson

Antonee Robinson's transfer from Wigan to AC Milan has collapsed at the last minute.
A statement from Wigan says: "Robinson, 22, travelled to Milan this morning after the two clubs agreed a fee for the permanent transfer on Thursday evening.
"The USA international underwent a medical examination with AC Milan, though further medical tests with the Italian authorities were required, which were subject to a 72-hour deadline. As such, the deal could not be formally ratified before the 8pm Italian transfer deadline on Friday."

18:20 - Villa to swoop for Baston

Aston Villa have been on the hunt for a striker after a season-ending injury to Wesley, and it seems like they might get Swansea's Borja Baston...

18:05 - Can swaps Juve for Dortmund

Dortmund have signed midfielder Emre Can from Juventus. At least I presume that's what this means...

18:00 - Five-hour countdown

Five hours. 300 minutes. 18000 seconds.
However you look at it, right now there doesn't seem to be the potential for too much to happen in the remainder of this January transfer window.
Manchester United's striker search and Jarrod Bowen's Premier League move seem like the big two.

17:45 - Barca sign Fernandes

Barcelona have confirmed the signing of midfielder Matheus Fernandes from Palmeiras.
It's a €7m deal - with just a €300m release clause! - and he will join in the summer.

17:35 - Morgan's off to Miami

Celtic's Lewis Morgan has signed for David Beckham's new MLS side Inter Miami.

17:25 - Angelino loaned to Leipzig

Manchester City defender Angelino has joined RB Leipzig on loan.

17:15 - Locadia off to MLS

Brighton have recalled Jurgen Locadia from his loan at Hoffenheim, ahead of an expected move to Cincinnati in MLS.
Locadia joined Brighton for £15m in January 2018 but struggled to make an impact.

17:00 - Bowen 'favours' Newcastle

Six hours to go in the window and one of the big moves that could still happen is Jarrod Bowen joining a Premier League team.
It is being reported that his move to West Ham has stalled over wage demands and he could now favour Newcastle.

16:45 - United turn to Ighalo

While most Premier League clubs appear to be done for the day, Manchester United are still scrambling around for a striker.
And apparently they've turned their attentions from Josh King to Odion Ighalo...

16:30 - What now for Giroud?

Having been linked with a number of clubs this month, Olivier Giroud didn't eventually get a move away from Chelsea.

16:20 - Mourinho: I can't lie, I wanted striker

With Harry Kane out for a few months, Jose Mourinho has admitted he wanted to sign a striker this month - but not just a short-term option.
"I cannot hide. If I say it's easy to play three competitions without a striker, I'm going to lie. I cannot lie. You know that's important for us.
"There's nobody to blame and say you could do better than you did. We don't want a striker to just help us now, to be useful for us. We want a striker to be good for our future, possibly to play with Harry Kane together in the future."
Mourinho obviously knew he was going to be asked about transfers at today's press conference, so he amusingly pre-empted the questions by interviewing himself...

16:10 - Cedric debut on hold

Arsenal's deadline day signing Cedric Soares has been continuing his recovery from injury at his new club. He doesn't look as though he will be available until the middle of February.

15:55 - Richarlison rumours

Barcelona bidding £85m for Richarlison was one of the more bonkers rumours of the window, but Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti says there was no official offer.
"He's still here and he didn't go to Barcelona! The player is happy here. He is a really important part of our squad.
"We didn't receive an official offer for him. Rumour is rumour. And even if not rumour, Richarlison is a really important player for us."

15:45 - No Bale in Real squad

He's been training today but Gareth Bale isn't in Real Madrid's squad to face Atletico Madrid tomorrow. Does it mean anything? Getting a bit late in the day for a mega-money move...

15:40 - Maddison joins Hull

With Jarrod Bowen looking set to move to the Premier League, Hull have snapped up Marcus Maddison on loan from Peterborough for the rest of the season.
Now where is Bowen heading? Will it be West Ham? Bournemouth? Palace?

15:30 - Ki leaves Newcastle

Ki Sung-yueng has left Newcastle by mutual consent.
The 31-year-old has only made four appearances this season and the club say a 'joint agreement' was reached to allow him to leave, with his contract set to expire in the summer.
Could he be a decent free agent pick up?

15:20 - Klopp planning for summer

Liverpool have been steamrolling their way to the title so it's no surprise that Jurgen Klopp isn't planning on making any signings today.
He says it's more about long-term planning for Liverpool.
“We are not really busy with transfer decisions for this period, this moment, but we are constantly in talks and exchanging ideas about what happens in the long term.
"The better the season is, the better the squad is, the less you have to do and the more happy you are with the players you have, which is always the plan in the summer not to be busy in the winter."

15:10 - King price tag goes up?

El. Oh. El.

15:00 - Second signing lined up for Brighton

It looks like being a busy day for the south coast club with Chelsea's Tariq Lamptey now reported to be undergoing a medical ahead of a move worth anything up to £6m.

14:55 - Brighton in for French starlet

News from Sky Sports News, who are reporting that Brighton are closing in on a deal for Amiens forward Serhou Guirassy.
The 23-year-old has four goals in Ligue 1 this season.

14:50 - Bowen to West Ham latest

Are West Ham poised to complete a deal for Hull talent Jarrod Bowen, who has also attracted interest from Crystal Palace?
David Moyes isn't counting his chickens just yet....
We are always interested in players who can score goals and make a difference so yes we are interested. I can’t confirm it’s done at this moment in time but we’re hoping to get it concluded, to say it's done would be jumping the gun.

14:45 - DONE DEAL!

James Chester has left Aston Villa to join Stoke City on loan until the end of the season.
And Jack Grealish has wished him well...

14:15 - Cavani staying at PSG

The future of PSG striker Edinson Cavani has been the subject of much speculation after he asked to leave the club, attracting interest from Chelsea and Atletico Madrid amongst others.
But PSG sporting director Leonardo has now said there will be no further business at the club, meaning Cavani will stay.

14:00 - King agreement for Man Utd?

Sky Sports News are reporting that Manchester United and Bournemouth may well have an agreement in place for the transfer of Josh King.
However, it would be dependent on Bournemouth signing a replacement.
And in any case, Bournemouth are denying it for now...

13:55 - DONE DEAL AT MAN UTD!

They've got one in at Old Trafford with Southend keeper Nathan Bishop signing on a two-and-a-half year deal.

13:45 - Mertens to Chelsea is OFF, Giroud staying

Chelsea had been linked with Napoli forward Dries Mertens this January with the Belgian star out of contract at the end of the season.
But Frank Lampard has just said that there is nothing happening - as well as confirming that Olivier Giroud will be staying at the club.
Lampard also says there will be no arrivals at Chelsea on deadline day.

13:35 - All done at Arsenal

Cedric Soares became Arsenal's second signing of the window when he joined on loan from Southampton today - following Pablo Mari, another defensive loan signing, from Flamengo.
And that appears to be that for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who said this in his press conference just now:
Arteta is also happy with the capture of Cedric:

13:25 - Spurs new boy to make debut

There's no Willian Jose at Spurs then but new man Steven Bergwijn will feature in Sunday's big match against Manchester City, according to Jose Mourinho.

13:15 - No move for Willian Jose

Real Sociedad forward Willian Jose has been consistently linked with a move to Tottenham in January but according to reports in Spain, he won't be moving on today...

13:05 - DONE DEAL!

After snapping up Sander Berge yesterday, Sheffield United have now announced the signing of Dutch forward Richairo Zivkovic.
He joins the club from Chinese club Changchun Yatai - having started out at Groningen and had a brief stint at Ajax.

13:00 - Mourinho happy with business

Jose Mourinho has just been on Sky Sports News saying that he is pretty content with Tottenham's activities in the market this winter.
A reminder, Spurs bagged Gedson Fernandes on loan from Benfica and also signed PSV forward Steven Bergwijn on a permanent deal.
"Good. We got Gedson on loan to try and compensate the departure of Christian (Eriksen, to Inter) and injury of Moussa (Dembele).
“Then I think we got a kid with amazing potential that is going to be cared and developed (Bergwijn).

12:50 - Bale trains with Real Madrid

The chances of this one coming off appear to be diminishing further with the news that Gareth Bale has been training with Real Madrid today.
Spurs made a game attempt to sign him but apparently his wages were a big stumbling block.

12:35 - Wolves to snap up Rochdale starlet

Luke Matheson made a name for himself when scoring against Manchester United in the League Cup earlier this season and now the teenager looks set to join Wolves before the deadline closes this evening. According to Sky Sports News.
And he'll be loaned back to Rochdale for the rest of the season so he can finish the school year!

12:25 - Celtic deny Wanyama bid

Celtic have come out and strongly denied that they are interested in signing Victor Wanyama from Tottenham Hotspur today...

12:20 - King price tag revealed

There are suggestions that if Manchester United are to sign Josh King today, they will need to pay in the region of £27m. TWENTY SEVEN MILLION!

12:08 - Madrid launch megabid for Liverpool star?

There is a sensational story coming out of Spain which suggests Liverpool man Sadio Mane is the target of a mammoth bid from Real Madrid, reportedly in the region of €180m. The suggest is that this could pave the way for Bale to move to Spurs.
However, as we explain in Euro Papers above, it seems desperately unlikely...

12:02 - DONE DEAL!

Yannick Carrasco is back at Atletico Madrid having wrapped up his move from Dalian.

12:00 - Newcastle confirm Giroud snub

Just to add to that news coming out around Olivier Giroud, Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has now said that the club failed in an attempt to sign the France striker.

11:45 - Giroud to stay!

David Ornstein drops a bombshell that Olivier Giroud will almost certainly stay at Chelsea now after the club failed to sign a replacement. Giroud had clubs falling over themselves to sign him, including Spurs, but now looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge, even if he's barely had a chance under Frank Lampard.

11:40 - DONE DEAL!

And it's a big one! Barcelona have confirmed the €31m capture of young Portuguese forward Francisco Trincao from Sporting Braga. Want to know more about the 20-year-old? We brought you news of his imminent move in yesterday's Euro Papers, which you can watch above...

11:25 - DONE DEAL!

Movement in the Championship as Kamil Grosicki makes the switch from Hull City to West Brom.

11:20 - Can set for Juve switch

The transfer window closes at 5pm today in Germany and Borussia Dortmund are busy getting a deal done for former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

11:15 - More doubt around the Bale to Spurs rumour

The big story so far today as been the report from The Times that Tottenham chief Daniel Levy has been in Madrid to seal a massive deal for Gareth Bale.
However, The Times have since backtracked a little, with Matt Lawton saying Spurs are not hopeful of a deal.
And that appears to have been confirmed by the player's agent, Jonathan Barnett, in a rather pointed message....

11:10 - Leicester making moves

Brendan Rodgers is beavering away on a deal with Wolves centre-back Ryan Bennett set to join the club on loan, with a view to a £5m deal in the summer.

11:05 - Wickham on the move?

Sky Sports News are reporting that Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham could be joining Sheffield Wednesday on loan before the deadline closes tonight.

11:00 - Wanyama to make Celtic return?

According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham are set to allow midfielder Victor Wanyama to return to former club Celtic on loan.

10:50 - United made bid for Ings

It's no secret Manchester United are after a striker today and the Telegraph is now reporting that Danny Ings came under their gaze, but Southampton had no interest in selling up...

10:40 - Bale to Spurs may not happen

Hold your horses on the Bale front. The Times are now reporting that a deal seems unlikely - with his massive wages a problem.

10:33 - DONE DEAL!

And Arsenal have a new right-back with Cedric Soares making the move on loan from Southampton. He joins Pablo Mari in making the move to Emirates Stadium in January and provides competition for Hector Bellerin.
Technical director Edu said: “Cedric is a defender with good experience of the Premier League, and of course at international level. He is another strong addition to our defensive unit who will provide our squad with quality. I know he is a player who plays with absolute full commitment and energy. We are all looking forward to going into the last stages of the season with Cedric as part of the club.”

10:30 - Bruce speaks out on Rose

One big deal that Newcastle have managed to do is the capture of England international Danny Rose on loan. And Steve Bruce is pretty happy about it.

10:20 - DONE DEAL!

We have our first confirmed arrival in the Premier League as Norwich capture Coventry's Sam McCallum. He rejoins the League One side for the remainder of the season.

10:17 - Solskjaer comments on King pursuit

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been asked about Manchester United's interest in Josh King, but he doesn't sound too optimistic about getting the deal over the line.
“I'm not sure, I don’t expect any more business to be done,” said Solskajer. "I don’t think anything is going to happen.
“Sometimes I say something here and something else happens, sometimes I say I'm happy with a player and he gets a different message, so I don't want to help or make speculations grow more and more today."

10:15 - DONE DEAL!

Rangers get the ball rolling on deadline day by confirming a deal for Genk midfielder Ianis Hagi (he of the legendary father fame...). He joins until the end of the season with an option to buy.

10:10 - Latest on Giroud

Everyone's expecting Olivier Giroud to be on the move on deadline day, with Tottenham, Lazio and Inter all mentioned as possible destinations. However, the Daily Mail report there will be no exit for Giroud unless Chelsea sign a replacement.

10:00 - Newcastle miss out on club-record deal

Steve Bruce says Newcastle had a massive bid accepted a few days ago but the player in question didn't want to move to St James' Park. Apparently it was Lille's Boubakary Soumare for £40m.

09:40 - Zidane wants Bale to stay

Zinedine Zidane has just been speaking and says he wants Bale to stay for the rest of the season at Real Madrid. But maybe a deal will be done with Florentino Perez...
Gareth is here with us and I am counting on him. I am not contemplating this possibility.

09:35 - The latest on Bale

Still digesting that Bale news? We have the full write-up for you here...

09:25 - BALE HEADING FOR SPURS??

Oh wow we have a big one here. The Times are reporting that Gareth Bale could well be joining Tottenham Hotspur today. The story comes from well-regarded journalist Matt Lawton and is as follows:
Tottenham believe they have made a breakthrough in their bid to bring Gareth Bale back to the club. The finer details of a deal have not yet been agreed — not least how they frame a contract when Bale has been earning a staggering £500,000 a week at the Santiago Bernabeu — but The Times understands there is growing confidence among the Spurs hierarchy that they can sign the Welsh superstar today. Daniel Levy, the Spurs chairman, travelled to Madrid for talks with Madrid president Florentino Perez in an effort to secure the services of the 30-year-old forward who moved from White Hart Lane to Madrid for what, in 2013, was a world record transfer of £85 million.
Amazing scenes!

09:12 - Howe confirms United in for King

Eddie Howe has been giving his weekly press conference and the Bournemouth boss has effectively confirmed that United are indeed in for Josh King. It sounds like this one could happen...
I’m not going to deny anything that you’ve read, but I don’t want to talk too much about it. Josh is much valued and loved by us. Let’s wait and see. He’s a massive, massive part of our team. I'd be very reluctant to lose a player of that quality.

09:00 - Cedric moves closer to Arsenal

Arsenal's business so far has been limited to a loan move for Brazilian defender Pablo Mari and there should be another short-term fix today in Southampton right-back Cedric Soares. The Southern Daily Echo are reporting that the Portugal international has now passed his medical (despite currently being injured).

08:55 - More on that King interest

We've been fleshing out that story around Manchester United's interest in Josh King - more on that here. On the face of things it seems a strange move. He's scored five goals this season and is currently struggling for fitness. Bringing back a youth product who was patently not good enough for United would just show how far United's stock has fallen in the intervening years.

08:45 - AC Milan in hunt for Wigan defender (yes, really)

It could be the most unlikely deal of the whole window, but on deadline day it appears that AC Milan are closing in on a £10m deal for Wigan defender Antonee Robinson. The 22-year-old only joined Wigan in July from Everton but could now be set to have Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a team-mate. What a remarkable story.

08:40 - Big stars on the move?

A couple of interesting little stories so far, but what of the big deals which could play out? Edinson Cavani, Olivier Giroud and... Gareth Bale could all feature throughout deadline day:

08:35 - Hammers battle Palace for Hull star

Another early one to keep an eye on: West Ham are reported to have agreed a £22m deal for Hull forward Jarrod Bowen, who has also been in talks with Crystal Palace. However, The Guardian's Jacob Steinberg cautions that personal terms are yet to be agreed.

08:30 - United make shock King move

Now here's an interesting one... Sky Sports News are reporting that Bournemouth have knocked back a bid from Manchester United for striker Josh King. The Norway international came through the United academy and will be well known to Ole Gunnar Solsdkjaer.
It's no secret United need a striker today, and they have been linked with Odion Ighalo and Islam Slimani as possible signings to add to the £68m capture of Bruno Fernandes yesterday. But could King be an alternative option?

08:15 - DEADLINE DAY IS HERE!

Gooooooood morning everyone, it's the most wonderful time of the year. Well, one of two anyway. That's right, it's deadline day, and in the immortal words of Richard Keys, despite what some people will tell you, the transfer window doesn't slam shut. It merely closes...
