Bayern lost the first leg to Atleti 1-0 last Tuesday and failed to seal the Bundesliga title over the weekend as they could only draw 1-1 with Borussia Monchengladbach, but Rummenigge – who garnered notoriety among Colchoneros fans for criticising their side’s European progression – insists the Bavarians will do everything to turn the tie around.
“With 70,000 fans in the stadium, we’ll give everything and put on a great battle, and I hope this battle will lead us to the final in Milan,” the CEO and former Germany striker told Sky Sport Deutschland.
“From experience, I know that when you get to these games a little dissatisfied, you deliver more.”
Thomas Muller, who started the first leg as a substitute, added: “We must recognise that in recent games we’ve lost the secret ingredient to our game.
“We have to investigate what’s missing and add it to the recipe on Tuesday.
“We’re still united as a team but things aren’t coming off for us as easily as they did before.”
