The 23-year-old, a bronze medallist at the World Championship in Innsbruck, won in 1:37.229, pipping German Andi Langenhan to victory in the penultimate leg of the World Cup season in Pyeongchang.
Sam Edney of Canada finished third after clocking 1:37.694.
And Fischnaller was delighted with his win, but admitted he had luck on his side.
"It's incredible," said Fischnaller. "You have to get to two good runs in to get a lead here. Fortunately I managed that, but I had a lot of luck on my side.
"You can’t read too much into the win here today in terms of next year. Though, of course, I would be delighted to end up back on the podium."
Russian Roman Repoliv, who leads the World Cup standings overall, finished 28th after a terrible opening run.
Repoliv is on 745 points, ahead of compatriot Semen Pavlichenko on 674 and double Olympic champion Felix Loch of Germany, who missed out on today's competition due to flu, on 663. Sportsbeat 2017
