Germany filled all three podium slots in the women’s sprint at the Luge World Championships to the delight of the home crowd in Winterberg.
Four-time Olympic gold medallist Natalie Geisenberger took first place as she finished in 38.628 seconds.
But it could not have been closer between her and compatriot Julia Taubitz, who had to settle for silver just 0.007 seconds back.
Dajana Eitberger rounded off the top three, finishing 0.04 seconds behind the winner.
America’s Emily Sweeney was fourth 0.119 seconds back from Geisenberger, while another German racer, Tatjana Huefner came in fifth.
