This was the German's 42nd career World Cup gold and her sixth victory in Lake Placid overall.
The top finisher for the home crowd faithful was American Erin Hamlin who was sixth but Geisenberger has extended her lead atop the standings to 80 points from her compatriot Tatjana Huefner who was fourth on the day.
