Natalie Geisenberger leads German clean sweep to add another European title

Four-time Olympic champion Natalie Geisenberger reigned supreme in the luge once more when powering to European Championships gold in Oberhof.
The current world champion led a German clean sweep on home ice, finishing with a combined time of 1:22.810 after her two runs, 0.223secs clear of Tatjana Hufner and 0.317secs ahead of Dajana Eitberger.
Hufner, 2010 Olympic champion and winner of five world titles, took a number of hits on her way down her second run but ultimately secured silver.
Eitberger was the penultimate luger down the track, but after a fast start but she hit the sides on a number of occasions to finish behind Hufner and ultimately take the bronze.
British duo Danielle Louise Scott and Elsa Desmond reached the finals of the luge in Oberhof, but the pair finished last and second last – more than five seconds off the pace.
