Russia's Semen Pavlichenko has been crowned winner of the men's singles at the Luge European Championships for the fourth time.

He was the only man to break the 43-second barrier – on his second run – as he set a total time of 1:26.203 in Germany.

Pavlichenko finished just 0.044 seconds ahead of compatriot Roman Repilov in Oberhof, who led after the first run, with Latvia's Kristers Parjods rounding off the podium 0.181 seconds off the winner.

Meanwhile, there was a German one-two in the doubles, with Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt dominant with their total time of 1:21.951.

They were fastest in both runs as they edged out compatriots Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken by 0.2 seconds.

Latvia's Andris and Juris Sics completed the podium, 0.323 seconds off the winners.
