Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford will be out for up to three months and not days as was first thought, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.

The England forward was withdrawn 16 minutes after coming on as a substitute during United's FA Cup win against Wolves on Tuesday after picking up a back injury, ruling him out of Sunday's game against Liverpool.
But the United manager said after the meeting with the runaway Premier League leaders at Anfield that Rashford will be missing longer than first predicted

Solskjaer had previously said the club were giving him "the absolute [amount of] time to find out" whether he would be fit to face the Reds. But giving an update from Anfield on Sunday, he said:
“He [Rashford] got a couple of knocks again and a couple of jolts when he came on against Wolves, and he’s aggravated his back. He’s had some trouble before and of course we are going to give him time to recover and rest before we put him back on the pitch.
"He’s always recovered quickly before so let’s hope he does that again.
“I wouldn’t expect him to be back in the next few weeks and we’ve got a mid-season break. I’m not sure we’re going to see him before then, no. We’re going to give him the time he needs."
However, reports urged during United's game against Liverpool at Anfield that the extent of Rashford's injury could be worse than Solskjaer has let on.
Veteran journalist Henry Winter tweeted that Rashford had suffered a double stress fracture and could miss up to three months.
Rashford was carrying a single stress fracture in his back, now has a double stress fracture after Wolves game. Expected to be out for 2-3 months. Also has piece of floating bone in his ankle requiring non-intrusive surgery to remove. Has been playing through immense pain to help.
And after United's 2-0 defeat at Anfield, Solskjaer confirmed that Rashford has indeed suffered a stress fracture.
A three-month absence would mean Rashford would miss the majority of the remainder of the season and would be a doubt for England's squad for the European Championships in the summer.
