Here come Lorenzo and Pedrosa... no improvement for Lorenzo and Pedrosa does, but it is 1:49.492 to stay second. He just crosses before the time ran out and will have another crack at pole.
Spies finds 1:49.748 to move from fifth to fourth while Hayden has crashed out!
Crutchlow improves but only to 1:49.576 and stays third!
Lorenzo now up by two-tenths on his latest flyer... and his lap-time is 1:49.404! Enough for provisional pole!
Lorenzo has improved to 1:49.951 for second and Pedrosa's time is 1:49.534! He's on pole if it stays this way! Jorge now third.
Pedrosa fastest at the halfway point of this lap.
Rea has been in and out again while Rossi comes in.
The order: Crutchlow, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Dovi, Spies, Bradl, Rea, Hayden, Rossi, Bautista.
Almost every rider out on track in the closing minutes of MotoGP qualifying.
Rea improves further to take seventh spot from Hayden.
Rea up to eighth ahead of Bautista and Rossi.
Lorenzo up to second with 1:50.103 asd the time winds down. Spies third fastest now after he temporarily took P2.
But just as he closes on Crutchlow, the Briton responds with a storming 1:49.718! The track conditions improving.
Pedrosa takes over in P2 with 1:50.373.
Dovi now third and Pedrosa fourth. Over two-tenths behind Cal.
The top order then: Crutchlow, Bradl, Lorenzo, Spies, Pedrosa, Dovioso, Hayden, Rossi, Rea, Bautista.
Rossi takes eighth back from Rea. No sign of the rain coming back imminently, although there are plenty of dark clouds.
Jonas Folger captured his first pole position in grand prix racing after a thrilling Moto3 qualifying session on a drying Aragon track.
Rea up to eighth.
Rossi's Ducati team-mate Nicky Hayden up in fifth now and back in the garage.
Lorenzo moves up to third spot with 1:50.553, with the two ahead of him in the garage.
Another Briton, Jonathan Rea, now 10th. Rossi returns to the action.
It is Pedrosa's 27th birthday. Bradl up to second with 1:50.726.

Briton Crutchlow now in P1 with 1:50.322. Lorenzo came back out recently.
He just leaned over too far. He catches a lift back to the garage. Meanwhile Pedrosa is up to second with 1:51.146.
Valentino Rossi crashes out! He is seventh in the list. The damp tarmac causing all sorts of trouble.
And he is eighth after his second effort, 1:52.143.
Pedrosa puts in his first lap since returning to the fray, and it is good enough for 16th.
Spies goes top with 1:50.979.

Andrea Dovizioso is now second on the Tech 3, two-tenths off the pace.
Lorenzo's pace now 1:51.197 - the standings leader will be mentally rubbing his hands together at his countryman's crash.
Yonny Hernandez now crashes out at the same point as Pedrosa! Maybe it was just a damp spot after all rather than the white line. He is also able to jog away.
Ben Spies now goes off the track but is able to rejoin without any trouble on the Yamaha factory bike.
Spaniard Pedrosa touched the paint and slid out. Lorenzo now on top with a time of a minute 51.379 seconds.
Stefan Bradl leads the way from Jorge Lorenzo and Briton Cal Crutchlow.
He looks okay after getting to his feet, holding his wrist, but his Honda is a different matter. Bits of carbon fibre everywhere!
DANI PEDROSA HAS TRASHED HIS BIKE!
There are a few damp parts on the track though so the riders had better be careful.
The weather could be a major factor this weekend - at the moment it is cloudy and dark, but the rain has subsided. Installation laps all round while the asphalt is dry.
And away we go! Qualifying has started in Alcaniz.
Dani Pedrosa edged out title rival Jorge Lorenzo to set the pace as wet track conditions persisted in the final session.
Yamaha's Ben Spies beat championship contenders Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo to top a wet second practice.
Nicky Hayden set the pace in a largely pointless first practice session.
