The World Championship will update here.

-

Cal disappointed that he let the leaders go, despite an excellent ride to finish fifth on the Tech 3 Yamaha.

-

Pedrosa says he had a problem which hindered his final laps. Lorenzo the beneficiary then - but Dani says "Lorenzo was more faster today".

-

Ellison finished 16th.

-

A frustrating day for Colin Edwards ended with him in the pits.

0'

Crutchlow is fifth ahead of Bautista, Rossi, Bradl, Hayden and Spies.

0'

Pedrosa and Dovizioso complete the podium as Stoner come home just behind in fourth.

0'

JORGE LORENZO WINS THE CATALUNYA GP!

1'

Stoner right up on the Italian now and we will have a fight on the final lap. Lorenzo looks fine at the front.

2'

Stoner is pulling away from Crutchlow and gaining on Dovi.

3'

Lorenzo has the lead! The home fans go beserk!

4'

The Coventry rider still held up. A good result for Tech 3 with him fifth and Dovi third, should it end this way... can it get even better though?

5'

Britain's finest looks the quicker rider in this Ashes battle for fourth! Naturally Casey won't give it up easily - a fierce competitor.

6'

Dovizioso remains over half a second ahead of Stoner - perhaps his problem has been sorted out. Crutchlow up behind the Australian world champion.

7'

The battle at the front is still going strong, with the gap getting smaller...

8'

Espargaro passes team-mate De Puniet for 13th. Ahead of them is Karel Abraham, with Spies - who rejoined - is 11th behind Hector Barbera.

9'

Lorenzo's World Championship lead would be safe if it ended like this.

10'

Pedrosa's lead steady at 0.7s, with Lorenzo digging in... Rossi is only eight seconds back from the leader!

11'

Dovizioso must have a problem as he is falling away - Stoner and Crutchlow will be up on him at some point.

12'

No changes in the order. On Dovi's first MotoGP ride at the Catalan circuit in 2008 he finished 4th and was the first non-factory rider across the line. In 2009 he repeated the result but crashed on lap 15 of the 2010 Catalan GP while pressuring Lorenzo for the lead. He restarted to eventually finish 14th. Last year he finished 4th in Catalunya.

13'

Lorenzo loses time running wide and Dovizioso is right up on him! Stoner is past Crutchlow.

14'

Pedrosa slips up the inside of Lorenzo to retake the lead!

15'

Briton CRT entry James Ellison fighting it out with Randy De Puniet for 14th. He knows he is battling for the Paul Bird ride.

16'

The gap between the top two is two-tenths. Can Lorenzo hold on to the lead? Can Stoner fight back?

17'

Lorenzo had one GP win at Catalunya when racing in the smaller classes: the 250cc race in 2007. He missed the MotoGP race in 2008 after crashing in the second free practice. In 2009 he started from pole and battled for the race victory throughout, before eventually finishing second to team-mate Rossi. He started from pole in 2010 and won, then finished second last year after starting from third.

18'

Lorenzo is through for the lead. He started second while Pedrosa was fifth on the grid.

19'

Cal and Casey are alone - there are four more riders behind them: Bautista, Rossi, Bradl and Hayden.

20'

The front three are extending their gap from Crutchlow and Stoner. Coming up to two seconds difference.

21'

Pedrosa has won in all three classes at the Catalunya circuit; he won the 125cc race at Catalunya in 2003 and the 250cc race in 2005. In 2006 he crashed out of the MotoGP race on lap eleven; in 2007 he was 3rd and in 2008 he took his first victory in the MotoGP class there. He missed the Catalan GP last year whilst still recovering from the broken collarbone sustained at Le Mans.

22'

Lorenzo is up behind Pedrosa with Dovi following. Stoner 0.3s behind Briton Cal.

23'

Spies scored just 18 points from the first four races which is a similar start to last year when he had 20 points after the first four races.

23'

And Spies takes the lead before sliding out of the race into the gravel!

23'

Rossi passes Hayden at the start of the second lap, while Crutchlow later passes Stoner!

24'

After a lap Pedrosa has held on to the lead, with Ben Spies second ahead of Jorge Lorenzo, Andrea Dovizioso, Stoner, Crutchlow, Stefan Bradl, Nicky Hayden, Vale Rossi and Alvaro Bautista.

25'

Stoner down to fifth and Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa leads!

25'

AND AWAY THEY GO!

13:59

Off they go on the warm-up lap.

13:56

There is a chance of some rain - it did so heavily during the warm-up session. Cal Crutchlow topped that run-out.

13:54

Andrea Iannone then claimed his first Moto2 victory of the year with an excellent ride under heavy pressure, while Marc Marquez captured the championship lead following a controversial clash with chief rival Pol Espargaro three laps from the end.

13:52

This morning Maverick Vinales captured his second Moto3 victory of the season with a superb breakaway ride, cutting Sandro Cortese's championship lead to just seven points.

12:50

Last year at the Catalan GP he took the lead from fast-starting Jorge Lorenzo on the second lap and led to the finish.

12:45

Casey Stoner starts on pole for the Catalunya MotoGP, which starts at 13:00 UK time.
