Thanks for joining us here on Eurosport for the qualification for the German Moto GP, be sure to come back tomorrow for the race
So it's Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorenzo on the front row tomorrow, and Simoncelli, Spies and Dovizioso behind them
Stoner finishes first and is quicker than last years pole by nearly two tenths of a second
As the riders go round their final laps, Lorenzo moves up into third whereas Valentino Rossi is way down in second last
Stoner equals his best time and it looks like he'll definitely be on pole, whilst Barbera and Hayden exchange unpleasantries
Ben Spies has found some good rhtythm and moves up into fifth
Crutchlow's Yamaha is an absolute mess but he has walked away and looks okay for now
Crutchlow goes off at the bottom of the hill, he looks in some serious discomfort down there and his bike looks even worse
Abraham went off at serious speed there but he looks like he will be fine, he's working away
Crash for Karel Abraham as he rolls off into the gravel and he is furious as he hammers the ground with his fists
Hayden improves as well as he gets into sixth place
Stoner gets incredibly close to the astroturf but it works well as he improves on his time and extends his lead
Lorenzo heads back into the pits for a change of tyres
Colin Edwards also improves as he goes into tenth spot
Crutchlow improves again as he moves up to ninth place
Constant changes at the top now as Pedrosa goes round quickly again and moves up to second
Hayden slightly improves and goes up one spot to seventh
It's now a Honda front three
Things getting incredibly tight now as Pedrosa moves up into third
Simoncelli with a cracking lap there, not quite as quick as Stoner's but he does move into second
rossi dropping all the way back to fourteenth and will be becoming very frustrated
Just three tenths of a second seperates first and third
Stoner on an incredibly quick one and does indeed go first, the first man to go sub 1.22
Bautista rolls off at the top corner into the gravel, it's not quite a crash and he's stragith back on the track
He doesn't make it, he does improve his time though and really tightens up the top three
Dovizioso is on a very quick one as he looks like he might take first place
Rossi's Ducati is in the pits having some work done, he's disappointingly down in twelfth
Crutchlow performing well seen as he's never been to this track before
Cal Crutchlow looking like he's having a quick lap and he does indeed improve heavily, moving up to tenth
De Puniet up to seventh in fact
De Puniet is the first mover up the leaderboard for a while as he gets up to eighth spot
Elias heading round but is really struggling way back in 16th place, it doesn't look like he'll improve on that any time soon
A lot of teams working on things in the pits as they seem to be sorting things out for tomorrow rather than pushing too hard today
Simoncelli looks like he might have peaked for the day as he is struggling to get near his best time
Stoner does something similar as he does his two quickest sectors of the race before losing a lot of time in the final one
Unfortunately not as his last sector is a bit of a shocker and he can't improve
Looks like Lorenzo might be improving on his time as he goes round the first sector in incredibly quick time
Hayden improves on his time slightly and moves up to seventh
Abraham is back in the pits, he is back in 11th but only one second behind first place
His next lap looks like it's going to be slightly slower than the one that took him to the top
Lorenzo puts in a fantastic lap and goes right to the top of the leaderboard with a 1.22.164
Simoncelli back on the track now trying to stretch his lead
Lorenzo does make some headway as he gets ahead of Pedrosa into fourth place
Not much change on the leaderboard at the moment as De Puniet and Bautista head round but can't improve on their times
Simoncelli back in the pits now, clearly confident with his first placed time at the moment
Spies looks like he's going to produce a great lap here, looking to improve on sixth place
Most of the riders going back to the pits now to reasses things.
Dovizioso has gone second - he is looking fast out there -- only 0.048 off Simoncelli.
Simoncelli now fastest with a 1:22.217 lap - almost his best time of the weekend.
10 minutes in and it is 1. Stoner, 2. Lorenzo, 3. Dovizioso, 4. Simoncelli, 5. Pedrosa.
Karel Abraham has skidded off but he should walk away from that crash okay.
Casey Stone now leads with a 1:22.353 that is already better than his best lap this morning.
The lead changing second all-the-time as the first paced laps take place. Simoncelli with the best early effort so far of 1:22.781
If you look at the bookmaker odds this should be a tight session. Stoner is favourite from Lorenzo but plenty of people fancy Simoncelli and Pedrosa too.
The hour session has just begun....as the bikes make their way out of the paddock.
In case you missed it - Jorge Lorenzo put Yamaha to the top in a very close final practice session at the Sachsenring.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage from Sachsenring as qualification for the German GP takes place.
