-

A fifth place for Bradl. Great performance from him.

-

Pedrosa gets his first 2012 win at Sachsenring. Lorenzo crosses second in front of Dovizioso as Stoner crashed in the very last lap. Thankfully, all that Stoner has hurt is his pride.

-

L30 - And that is that. The rain is on, but the sun is shining on Pedrosa who takes the flag ahead of Lorenzo with Dovizioso in fourth. What a finish to that race. Astounding. A hat-trick of wins for Pedrosa at this circuit.

-

L29 - Pedrosa heading Stoner on this last lap. A frantic scramble for the line, but Stoner has gone! He is off the bike! A stunning end to this race. No points for Stoner. The rain is on. It is all going off.

-

L28 - Bradl trying to hold off Hayden, Barbera and Rossi for sixth place. Crutchlow fighting back. We head for the last lap.

-

L27 - The tyres on the Hondas are totally spent. The way is should be at this stage of a contest. What a finish to this race.

-

L26 - Both of the Hondas have four laps to try to sort out who is going to take this one. Is Stoner going to take out Pedrosa in the dying minutes?

-

L25 - Crutchlow making a real push to try to take over from Dovizioso, but he has gone off the track! Disaster for Crutchlow. Tried to push that too hard. That will kill him for the day.

-

L24 - Crutchlow in pursuit of fourth-placed Dovizioso with only five laps remaining. Looks in decent condition to achieve his goal.

-

L23 - Stoner tipping it into the left hander. Showing some serious intent to try to go beyond Pedrosa, who holds firm for the moment. Still the threat of rain brewing overhead.

-

L22 - Hayden winning the battle of the Ducatis at the moment in eighth spot with Rossi 17 seconds behind the leader in 10th. All about the leading two.

-

L21 - Stoner trying to press with nine laps to go. Meanwhile, Lorenzo is seven and a half seconds behind in third. Unbelievable gap between the Hondas and the rest of the field.

-

L20 - Sachsenring set to play host to a frantic finish between the two Hondas. At least the rain has held off. Wouldn't be half as dramatic if we had yesterday's qualification weather.

-

L19 - Stoner has not given up the ghost despite that wobble. He continues to pursue Pedrosa. Obviously a few tactics going on here as we come to the key moments of this race.

-

L18 - Pedrosa ahead of Stoner now. Not sure what went on with Stoner's bike there. A serious wobble. Not good for confidence. Are his tyres ok?

-

L17 - The only man who has done more winning around this track than Pedrosa is Rossi. Just a question of when he is going to try to make his move.

-

L16 - Both men hugging the curves wonderfully well. Pedrosa leaning into the corner of these bends like he is trying to cut them with his knees. Great angles.

-

L15 - Half the race gone. At least we have a race. These Hondas really holding up superbly on this circuit. Pedrosa like a dog with a bone. Refusing to relinquish his pursuit of Stoner.

-

L14 - Just looking at the start of the race. Fine move by Stoner to ensure Spies coudn't get the jump on him out of the blocks. The top two well in control of this race.

-

L13 - So we have Stoner, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Dovizioso and Crutchlow battling with Spies for fifth and sixth. German hopeful Stefan Bradl remains in seventh.

-

L12 - Has been half a second between the top two for some time now. Both men continue to set the same times, lap after lap. Lorenzo falling further away from the Hondas on his Yamaha.

-

L11 - Just a sight of De Puniet in 12th. He seems to be in splendid isolation in 12th spot.

-

L10 - Not much movement in the leading positions. Lorenzo has set the quickest lap of the race, but not enough of them to trouble the top two.

-

L9 - Lorenzo about four seconds ahead of Spies, but three points adrift of Pedrosa. Almost a stick-on for third place, but he is three seconds behind Pedrosa.

-

L8 - Stoner not running away from Pedrosa. Stoner trying to break his fellow Honda in half, but no success as yet. Pedrosa just hanging onto the back of him.

-

L7 - This circuit could throw up a few obstacles later in the race. Can't take it for granted one little bit. Crutchlow and Spies continue to jostle for fourth, fifth and sixth with Spies also in there.

-

L6 - Crutchlow up to fifth place trying to hunt down Spies. Certainly more competition elsewhere in the field than up front. Seems like a two-horse race.

-

L5 This is looking very ominous for the rest of the field with Stoner and Pedrosa leading the way followed by Lorenzo who is a couple of seconds behind Stoner with Spies in fourth place and Dovizioso in fifth. All to ride for.

-

L4 Pedrosa staying firmly on the tail of Stoner. The Honda boys are pulling away from the rest of the field. This could bne a Honda one-two the way they have started this one.

-

L3 A gap of 0.502 between Stoner and Pedrosa. Stoner trying to break this field early on. Meanwhile, Pirro has been forced out of the race. That came a day after he fell in the rain. Not the best for him.

-

L2 Stoner makes his move on the second lap of the day to take over from Pedrosa followed by Spies and Lorenzo. No rain as yet.

-

L1 Pedrosa ahead of Stoner with Spies in third place after the first lap. Not much between the top three after that opening lap. Jostling for position out there.

11:55

It has just started to rain again. Not good news. Let us hope the weather holds off. They are on slick tyres as they head out for their warm up lap.

11:50

The title race couldn't be closer this season, with Lorenzo and Stoner tied at the top.

11:45

Valentino Rossi will start from down the grid, and was left annoyed at the set-up blunder on Saturday which saw him struggle.

11:40

With weather conditions across Europe chaotic we look to be in for an unpredictable race - Casey Stoner came out best in qualifying, can he do it again?
