Stoner leads the standings with 116 points from Lorenzo (98) and Dovizioso (83) after six races. Rossi is fourth with 68 as he continues to struggle to come to terms with the Ducati.

0'

Abraham, Elias, Aoyama, Capirossi, Barbera and De Puniet complete the order. Simoncelli, Spies and Lorenzo crashed out while Crutchlow did not start after that crash yesterday.

0'

Hayden crosses for fourth with Bautista fifth ahead of Rossi.

0'

Dovizioso brings the sister Repsol Honda home for second as Edwards completes the podium - great effort from the American.

0'

Stoner crosses the line to win the British Grand Prix!

1'

Stoner begins his final lap. Edwards seemed to have a mini wobble a lap back.

2'

Stoner lapping quicker than the guys behind him despite having a gap of 15 seconds to make use of in these final two laps. Obi-Wan Kenobi in the garages watching.

3'

Edwards absolutely superb on the Tech 3 Yamaha a week after breaking his collarbone. He's still a few seconds ahead of Hayden but he must be feeling it now.

4'

Stoner will take a healthy lead in the World Championship with Lorenzo out, should be bring the victory home. He could crash yet - but will not take any risks in these wet conditions.

5'

The Doctor Rossi is 15 seconds behind Bautista and all alone with Abraham 14 behind him.

6'

Hayden seven seconds behind Edwards but on the move. There are enough laps left for him to claim a podium.

7'

Stoner nine seconds clear and seems set for the race win. Simoncelli and his great hair disappointed in the garage. It was a less spectacular crash, just flopping to one side as he braked into the water. Lorenzo was properly thrown off his bike.

8'

Stoner seven seconds clear of his Repsol Honda team-mate Dovizioso.

-

Stefan Bradl stretched his Moto2 championship lead yet further with a commanding win - but the hero of the race was home rider Bradley Smith, who came through from 28th on the grid to take his first podium in the series in second.

9'

Colin Edwards is now third ahead of Hayden, Bautista and Rossi. Twelve riders still out there.

10'

SIMONCELLI WIPES OUT INTO THE RUN-OFF AREA! He was right up behind Dovizioso and hit a puddle. There's no coming back for him - like the others he is angry but safe and sound.

11'

Rossi is up to seventh but is running four seconds slower than the leaders.

12'

AND LORENZO HIGH-SIDES AND CRASHES OUT OF THE BRITISH GP! He lost the front and the Yamaha chucked him up in the air - he and the bike slid side by side off the track. Both factory Yamahas are goners in the space of a lap.

12'

Spies is out of the race, shaking his head. The first retirement.

-

You can watch the race online with an hour delay using the Eurosport Player, and catch up with the earlier action from Silverstone.

13'

Stoner has pulled away at the front with a 2.9-second advantage. The follow three are close together, with Dovizioso on the sister Repsol Honda holding off world champion Lorenzo.

14'

The front four are together on the straight, with gaps of half a second between them. Remarkably no one has come off their bike yet - British hope Cal Crutchlow is not racing after fracturing his collarbone in a high-speed crash in qualifying.

15'

The conditions are terrible. Behind those top seven are Toni Elias, Alvaro Bautista, Karel Abraham, Rossi in 11th, Hiroshi Aoyama, Loris Capirossi, Hector Barbera and Randy de Puniet.

16'

Stoner is in the lead now from Dovizioso, Lorenzo, Simoncelli, Spies, Edwards and Hayden.

17'

Simoncelli somehow holds on to the Honda Gresini as he wobbles! He comes off the track and almost wipes out Lorenzo when he rejoins! The Spaniard will be furious about that. Great handling of the machine by the Italian.

18'

Nicky Hayden has a moment and leaves the track, dropping a couple of places. He is seventh now behind Ben Spies and Colin Edwards.

19'

There is a great deal of standing water on the track with spray flying everywhere. The Italian remains in the lead, with Stoner second ahead of Simoncelli as Lorenzo falls to fourth on the Yamaha.

20'

Dovizioso past Lorenzo for P1! Valentino Rossi remains 13th, where he started on the Ducati.

20'

Stoner down to third as Andrea Dovizioso comes through for second. Marco Simoncelli has dropped two places to fourth.

20'

Lorenzo through for the lead...

20'

The race begins!
