Schumacher eighth on F2 debut in Bahrain

Michael Schumacher's son Mick finished in the points on his Formula Two debut in Bahrain on Saturday, with eighth place in the feature race ensuring he will start Sunday's sprint from pole position.

The German, driving for the Prema team and a member of the Ferrari academy, had qualified 10th at Sakhir circuit for the season-opener.
The race was won by Canadian Nicholas Latifi, the Williams Formula One reserve competing for the DAMS team, ahead of Italian pole-sitter and standings leader Luca Ghiotto and Brazilian Sergio Sette Camara.
Colombian Tatiana Calderon finished 13th out of 20 after starting 19th on her F2 debut for BWT Arden.
On Sunday, Schumacher came sixth in the sprint race, won by Ghiotto, meaning he gathered eight points across the weekend and sits 29 points behind the leader.
Schumacher is due to test with Ferrari, the team for whom his seven-times Formula One world champion father won five of his titles, and Alfa Romeo in Bahrain next week.
