Ilkka Herola and Eero Hirvonen delighted the home fans as the Finnish duo took a narrow victory in the team sprint at the Nordic Combined World Cup.
The duo topped the standings on home snow in Lahti after they powered across the line first in the cross country to guide them to the win.
Their time of 27:50.6, on top of their sixth-placed finish in the jumping with 212.4 points, was enough for them to finish 0.2 seconds ahead of Norway.
Espen Bjoernstad and Joergen Graabak finished fourth in both disciplines as they took the silver medal position.
Austria's Wilhelm Denifl and Mario Seidl topped the charts in the jumping but ended up 12th in the cross-country, leaving them 3.5 seconds behind the winners in third place overall.
Norway are still top of the Nations Cup standings with 4137 points, ahead of Germany (3798) and Austria (3396).
