Jarl Magnus Riiber's domination of the 2018-19 Nordic Combined World Cup continued as the Winter Olympic silver medallist earned his fifth event victory in his last six outings.
This time around, the 21-year-old Norwegian was the king of the castle in Otepaa, Estonia, earning 119.7 points in the ski jumping and coming home in 23:15.1 in the cross-country.
Riiber was followed home by Japan's Akito Watabe – last season's overall World Cup champion – while Austria’s Martin Fritz took the final podium berth to earn a career-best third.
Man of the moment Riiber, who won team large hill/4 x 5km silver at the PyeongChang Games in 2018, is now sitting pretty on 580 points in the overall standings for this season, well ahead of Germany’s Johannes Rydzek (321) and Austria's Mario Seidl (300).
The action continues with another round at the same venue on Sunday.
