THE MAIN EVENT

It is a bit difficult to be a multiple gold medallist in any sport, but opportunity knocks for Mikaela Shiffrin at the age of 22.
The teenage Shiffrin won gold in slalom in Sochi to become the youngest slalom champion in the history of the Games. She said then she hoped to win five golds at PyeongChang 2018.
Only three skiers have claimed three in one Games: Austrian Tony Salier (1956 - downhill, giant slalom and slalom), Jean-Claude Killy of France (1968 - same combination) and the Croatian Janica Kostelic (2002 - GS, slalom and combined.)Only two Americans have two Olympic gold medals to their names after their careers.
But at least three would seem possible. She starts as favourite in the slalom, giant slalom and alpine combined. She could also win the downhill and super-G if she decides five is a possibility.
Her bid to create history begins early on Wednesday morning following weather delays over the weekend. You wouldn't want to miss it.

POSSIBLE HEADLINE MAKER

In the halfpipe final all eyes will be on Shaun White, who was in blistering form during the qualifying on Tuesday. White, who landed a perfect 100 score earlier in the season, is returning to form at the perfect time and will be looking to secure gold in Wednesday's final.
However it's going to be an intensely fought final. Scotty James of Australian and Japan's Ayumu Hirano both topped the qualifying leaderboard at one stage and they will both believe they can challenge White.

BRITWATCH

Eve Muirhead and Kyle Smith will lead their teams into the action as the women's and men's round robin matches get underway in the curling. Team Smith face Switzerland first and end the day against Canada. Team Muirhead faces the Olympic Athletes from Russia in the middle session of the day.
In the women's slalom Alex Tilley and Charlie Guest are unlikely to be pushing for medals, but Tilley will look to try and challenge for a top 15 or top 20 place as she continues her bid to one day challenge for medals.
Amanda Lightfoot is also in action as during the 15km in the biathlon.
