Rafa Nadal beat compatriot Albert Ramos-Vinolas to win the Monte Carlo Masters for the tenth time.
The Spaniard, who defeated David Goffin in the semi-final on Saturday, made light work of his opponent as he becomes the first person to ever win ten titles at the same ATP tournament.
Nadal was flawless in the first set, only giving his opponent one game as he was ruthless with his service.
In total he won 11 break points and for the most part Ramos-Vinolas didn't seem to know what had hit him.
"It has been an amazing week on one of the most important events on the tour. I played well here, which helps me a lot to start the claycourt season with confidence," said Nadal afterwards.
Monte-Carlo is the first part of what could become a remarkable hat-trick for Nadal on clay as he is bidding to win his tenth titles at Barcelona and Roland Garros as well.
It is Nadal's first victory of the season having lost in the finals of the Australian Open and Indian Wells to Roger Federer and against Sam Querrey in the Mexican Open.
