Dr John Sentamu, the first black Archbishop, will attend Thursday night's match against Castleford as part of a walk around his province that started in November and ends in West Hull this week.
Hull FC club chaplain Rev Tony Cotson, who will spend the day with the Archbishop, said: "H e is very interested in learning what rugby league and Hull FC are all about.
"He has a background playing rugby union so I'm going to try and convert him!"
