A Leigh team including new signings Rangi Chase, Willie Tonga and Harrison Hansen beat Wigan 26-20 in a pre-season friendly at the Leigh Sports Village.

A Leigh team including new signings Rangi Chase, Willie Tonga and Harrison Hansen beat Wigan 26-20 in a pre-season friendly at the Leigh Sports Village.

Wigan, fielding only five members of their Grand Final-losing line-up, took an early 14-0 lead and were ahead 20-16 in the second half only to let their advantage slip.

In other pre-season friendlies that survived the snow and frost, Huddersfield were 38-6 winners at Hull KR, Widnes drew 18-18 with Halifax and Hull FC won 46-12 at Doncaster.
