England head coach Simon Amor insists there is plenty more left in the tank as they set up a Cup quarter-final clash with New Zealand at the HSBC Cape Town sevens.
Competing in the second leg of the World Rugby sevens series, England defeated Uganda, Argentina and Scotland to progress through to the last eight.
Their last game of the day came against Scotland in Pool C and they were made to work hard for the win, trailing 7-0 at the break before coming back to triumph 12-7.
And after winning bronze at the series opener in Dubai last weekend, Amor believes his side can improve heading into Sunday's knockout stages.
"We haven't quite hit our straps today but we showed a lot of heart which is important for us and pleasing to get the win against a very good Scotland team," said Amor.
"The only pressure is to come out and do our very best and the effort and attitude was excellent, our rugby sevens was not as good as it could be but we will rest up and come out tomorrow and give it our best shot."
