Date set for Brennan

The former Ireland lock is accused of entering the seating area and punching Ulster supporter Patrick Bamford during a European Cup game last month.

Legal teams for Brennan last week managed to delay a hearing scheduled for Thursday after winning a 24-injunction on the grounds the outcome could prejudice any criminal proceedings in France.

Bamford yesterday instructed a French lawyer to pursue criminal and civil proceedings against Brennan and is also taking libel action against a number of news organisations.

Brennan claims he was provoked by the Ulster fan and that he had made derogatory comments about his mother.

Bamford required medical treatment at the stadium and also when he returned to his home in London.

Former Wales captain Gareth Thomas was also involved in an incident with Ulster fans during the same game and was last week handed a four-week ban.
