France captain Fabien Pelous made his comeback to club rugby with Toulouse on Sunday after being sidelined for four months by an ankle injury.
The 33-year-old lock came on to replace Finau Makka at number eight in the 74th minute of his Toulouse club's 24-7 win over Clermont in the French Top 14 championship.
Pelous, who is one cap short of the French record of 111 appearances held by former centre Philippe Sella, sprained his left ankle during a European Cup match against the Llanelli Scarlets in December.
He missed the Six Nations and the severity of his injury cast doubt on his participation in the World Cup to be played in September and October in France.
