South Africa recorded a resounding 24-13 victory over Argentina to take third place in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Tomas Cubelli picked up an early yellow card for preventing Ruan Pienaar from taking a quick penalty, and that gave South Africa the space they needed.
JP Pietersen opened the scoring with a try, and then Handre Pollard impressed with a conversion then two subsequent penalties to open up a 16-0 advantage at half-time.
Eben Etzebeth crossed the line in the second half, with Pollard’s kicking remaining almost unerring until the final whistle.
Captain Nicolas Sanchez made the scoreline more respectable with a drop goal and a penalty before Juan Pablo Orlandi drove the ball across the line in the dying seconds, allowing the skipper just enough time to convert.

TALKING POINT
What next for South Africa? The legends depart – will coach Heyneke Meyer have the opportunity to take on the new generation of Springboks? He certainly seems to want to, but will a third-place finish at a World Cup be good enough?

MATCH IN A TWEET
KEY MOMENTS
6’ TRY! And South Africa immediately take advantage of their extra man as Pietersen runs the ball over the line.
10’ CHANCE! Le Roux makes the pass to Habana, who takes it forward over the line but Amorosino gets his hand to that first. Habana didn't bother celebrating that; referee John Lacey referred it to the TV official to confirm it was no try.
29’ CHANCE! Oh, and another chance for Habana! Great break, and Pollard's pass might be a touch high but there's no reason Habana couldn't have taken that over the line rather than bumped it on to his head.
42’ DROP GOAL! Ah, and a drop goal from the Argentina captain! Bisecting the uprights, and that gets them on the board.
43’ TRY! Has Etzebeth got that over the line? He sure has. Great work from the turnover and a despairing challenge from Figallo obscured the referee's vision at first, but that was definitely over cleanly.
80’+2 TRY! THAT BALL IS OVER THE LINE! Orlandi has got that ball over the line underneath a whole pile of bodies, and even some of the South Africa side look happy for them.
