Great Britain win bronze at World Shooting Championships

Debutant Zoe Bruce helped Great Britain to a team bronze medal in the women’s 50m rifle prone at the World Shooting Championships in South Korea.

Bruce lined up alongside the experienced sister pairing of Jennifer and Seonaid McIntosh who both won double European Championships gold in Baku last year.
The Brits scored 1850.6 points in Changwon to complete the podium as Germany took gold with a world record 1871.4 and Denmark (1851.2) won the silver medal.
The bronze is Great Britain’s first medal at the championships, putting them 15th in the medal table, while Korea sit top of the standings with 12 medals including four golds.
All three Great Britain medallists will be action again on Wednesday when they compete in the individual competition which starts at 2.30am UK time.
Elsewhere in the Championships, which runs until September 15, Aaron Heading, Edward Ling and Matthew Coward-Holley finished 13th in the Trap Team event.
