The 34-year-old Russian slider claimed a gold and a silver over the weekend in Calgary in the two races, enough to secure the overall crown from South Korea’s Yun Sung-bin.
The Korean slider, the reigning Olympic champion, also claimed a gold and a silver this weekend and remarkably has to settle for second place overall despite never being off the podium this World Cup season.
Tretiakov has been sublime however, claiming four wins throughout the campaign to claim his first crown since the 2008/09 season.
The stage is set for one final match-up at the start of next month in the World Championships in Whistler.
