Former Olympic champion Alexander Tretyakov claimed his first skeleton World Cup victory of the season with an impressing showing in Winterberg.
The Russian – who claimed gold at Sochi 2014 – produced two dominant runs to claim the win in a combined time of 1:52.07minutes.
His second run was the quickest of the day, becoming the only man to break 56 seconds on the track and Germany's Axel Jungk – who finished second – could not match him.
The German ended up 0.83seconds back overall while third was reigning Olympic and World Cup champion, South Korea's Yun Sungbin.
Sungbin is the only slider to have cracked the podium in both of the first two World Cup races but is still waiting for his first win.
And that means that Tretyakov, who was fourth in the season opener in Latvia tops the overall standings after two rounds alongside his compatriot Nikita Tregubov.
Tregubov won in Latvia but was fourth here, while Tomass Dukurs was fifth with his brother Martins seventh – Great Britain's Marcus Wyatt ended up tenth.
