The star nicknamed 'the Flying Moustache' bristled with intent and secured a second FIS World Cup victory of his career with a combined score of 262, having won earlier prologue and large hill team events.
With ten jump events in ten days across Norway signalling the third edition of the Raw Air competition, the 28-year-old heads to his home hill in Lillehammer with the lead.
Trailing only to Czech Roman Koudelka at the flip after posting 127m at the first attempt, Johansson took advantage of still conditions to fly 129m and send the home crowd into raptures.
In doing so, the PyeongChang gold medallist denied Ryoyu Kobayashi a 12th World Cup win of the season.
Indeed, the Japanese ace missed out on the podium altogether, with Austria's Stefan Kraft and Slovenia's Peter Prevc – whose brother Domen led for long periods – rounding off the rostrum.
