Lundby takes Raw Air lead in front of home fans
Yellow bib wearer Maren Lundby thrilled the home fans with victory at Lillehammer as she took control of the Raw Air standings.
World Champion Lundby, 24, struggled in the opening jump and was fourth going into the second attempt.
Germany’s Katharina Althaus and the Austrian duo of Eva Pinkelnig and Daniela Iraschko-Stolz were all ahead of her.
However whilst her rivals really fell off during the second jump Lundby rose to a whole new level.
The Norwegian took off and flew even further, mastering the conditions to take a deserved victory.
She cements her position at the top of the World Cup standings and now leads Raw Air by 19.1 points ahead of Althaus going into Trondheim.
