Coming into the weekend Kobayashi had the World Cup already wrapped up although he will be looking to try and take the Planica7 to go along with his Four Hills Grand Slam from earlier in the week.
The Japanese jumped brilliantly on Thursday to secure top spot in qualification and with a distance of 242.0 and points of 229.1 he led the way after the opening jump on Friday.
However in trickier second jump conditions Kobayashi struggled a bit and out-jumped by every other competitor to finish in the top ten.
