Snooker news - Kyren Wilson fights back to beat Dave Gilbert and take title
Updated 03/02/2019 at 23:05 GMT
Kyren Wilson sealed victory in The German Masters after winning four frames on the bounce to beat Dave Gilbert 9-7.
Wilson raced into a 4-1 lead in a nervy encounter, before ending the afternoon session with a 5-3 advantage.
However, Gilbert, who scored the 147th 147 in professional snooker history last month, instantly cut the deficit before notching the first century of the final.
He ended up whitewashing Wilson in the session, clinching the following frame after a loose safety shot from the 27-year-old and then a failure to make the most of an opening in the 12th frame.
However, Wilson returned from the interval a completely different player.
Breaks of 93, 54 and 70 left him a frame away from victory.
He then won a scrappy final frame with some brilliant snooker to finally clinch victory and the £80,000 winner's cheque.
