Mark Selby thrashes Lyu Haotian to reach quarter-finals of China Open

World number one Mark Selby was in exceptional form as he brushed aside Lyu Haotian with an emphatic 6-1 victory to reach the quarter-finals of the China Open.
Selby produced breaks of 77, 118, 55 and 108 as he kept his opponent firmly under the cosh throughout the encounter.
The Jester roared into a 5-0 lead with the two century breaks ensuring that he was able to assert his dominance.
Lyu produced a break of 74 to belatedly get on the board in the sixth frame, but Selby was then able to close out the match in the seventh.
The reigning world champion can ensure that he ends the season as number one in the rankings with victory at the event.
He will next take on the winner of Mark Williams, who defeated Mark Allen in a tight 6-5 match.
Stuart Bingham won 6-2 over Graeme Dott, and will face Jack Lisowski, the victor over Gary Wilson.
