Remarkable Ronnie O'Sullivan cruises through, Liang Wenbo hits 147
Ronnie O'Sullivan produced some superb snooker to cruise past Mark Davis in the second round of the English Open.
Ronnie - kitted out in new black trainers - quickly found the spring in step after going a frame behind, levelling up in the second.
And O'Sullivan notched up two big breaks (of 136 and 134) in the fourth and fifth frames to seal a comfortable win.
Earlier on Wednesday Judd Trump put in an impressive performance as he defeated Mark Joyce 4-0 to go into the third round of the English Open.
Trump, who is looking to build on his victory at the European Masters, started strongly with two separate breaks that gave him the first frame.
He then knocked in an incredible 128 that featured some impressive long potting and positional play.
In the third frame, Trump was in the groove and notched 99, narrowly missing out on a century as the black rattled the jaws of the pocket and refused to go in.
Trump wrapped up the fourth frame quickly to seal victory and set up a clash against either Matthew Stevens or David Gilbert.
In the other early matches World Championship semi-finalist Barry Hawkins was knocked out by Chen Zifan whilst world number 11 Mark Allen also suffered a surprise exit, losing 4-2 to Stuart Carrington.
Later on Wednesday afternoon Liang Wenbo struck a dramatic 147 as he came from behind to beat Tom Ford 4-3. Wenbo let out a roar as he potted a tricky pink, with players from the other table watching on as he wrapped up the £40,000 prize.
On that other table Mark Williams made short work of Luca Brecel, wteaming into the third round courtesy of a 4-1 win.
