Judd Trump reached the quarter-finals of the European Masters on Thursday as he beat David Gilbert 4-2 whilst Mark Williams shocked Neil Robertson by the same scoreline.
Trump, the defending champion, took the first frame with a break of 60 as he and Gilbert exchanged the opening four frames, with the latter notching the game's only century in the fourth.
However Trump responded perfectly to that big break as he took the last two frames comfortably to secure passage to the next round.
He'll face Mark Allen for a place in the semi-finals.
Earlier Robertson, who reached the semi-finals last year only to be white-washed by Ronnie O'Sullivan, slipped from 2-1 up to a 4-2 loss against Williams.
Having levelled the match at 2-2 Williams then finished things off with breaks of 67 and 102.
He will face Cao Yupeng, who shocked Stuart Bingham at the World Open in September.
In the late session world number one Mark Selby survived a scare as he came from 2-0 down to beat Jack Lisowski 4-3.
Stuart Bingham beat rising star Luca Brecel 4-2 with Zhou Yuelong overcoming Peter Lines 4-1.
