Robertson secures maiden ranking title in style

Resuming 5-3 clear ahead of the evening session in Belgium, Perry clawed his way back to trail 7-6 courtesy of breaks of 56, 106, 59, 60 and 110. He had looked down and out at 5-0 behind, but Robertson held himself superbly well to claim the final two frames, including a closing century break of 108, to lift his first major title after turning professional in 2002.

Emotional Robertson: It means everything

"It's what I dreamed off since I was little boy playing the game," said an emotional Robertson, the world number 36, who picked up a winner's cheque for £75,000.
"To be honest, I didn't think it was possible, but I believed I had it in me."

FIRST SESSION REPORT

Jimmy Robertson needs four more frames to win his first ranking title after erecting a 5-3 lead over Joe Perry in the European Masters final in Lommel.
World number 36 Robertson from Bexhill had breezed into a 5-0 lead with breaks of 65, 75 and 54 leaving him in charge.
But former Masters finalist Perry - ranked 25 in the world - refused to panic as he won the final three frames of the opening session to breathe new life into the all-English final.
Perry reached his first final of the season with a 6-3 win over Anthony Hamilton in the last four while Robertson edged out Mark King 6-4.
