Mark Selby suffered a surprise loss to Jordan Brown at the European Masters on Tuesday night. Ronnie O'Sullivan needed all nine frames to beat Zhang Anda to reach the last 32 of this year's European Masters tournament. Elsewhere, John Higgins qualified for the next round in the day's first match-up against Jamie Rhys Clarke.

O'Sullivan with a brilliant 128 break against Zhang

World number one Mark Selby lost in a huge upset 5-3 to Jordan Brown at the European Masters, while Judd Trump left it late to beat Jak Jones 5-4.
The unfancied 34-year-old Brown hit the ground running with a break of 118 in the first frame, but Selby held on to keep tin touch to 2-2, before a half century again put Brown ahead.
Selby looked to have found his form when he put way a 128 break to level at 3-3, but two relatively scrappy frames for Brown, the last won 55-68 as Selby could not build on a 54 break, sealed the surprise win.
Trump took the lead in his match-up with a break of 68 setting him up, but 61 for Jones in the second levelled. Trump then moved into a 2-1 lead, but Jones offered three impressive breaks - 115, 94 and 128 - in consecutive frames to go 4-2 up.
With the pressure on, the former world No. 1 reeled off three big breaks of his own (73, 83, and 98) to secure passage to the next round.
Ronnie O'Sullivan won a 5-4 nine-frame thriller against Zhang Anda to progress to the last 32.
O'Sullivan hit 86 without response to take a first frame lead, but a 51 in the second was matched by Zhang's 50, who scored enough over the frame to win 66-52. Zhang then added 64 in the third to take the lead.

However the former world number one retook the lead with a nice break of 69 followed by a tight 62-59 win, before laying down a huge 128 to move further ahead.
Zhang then responded with his own century - 114 - and a 91, to go level with a final frame to decide the winner.
O'Sullivan was able to secure a 96-44 win to go into the next round.
John Higgins beat Jamie Rhys Clarke 4-1 in the day's first game. Clarke took an early lead but lost the next five as Higgins put on a show for the crowd in Milton Keynes with runs of 82, 53 and 73.
Clarke managed just 15 points in the final five frames, scoring just two between the first and the last.
Higgins last won the European Masters in 1997, but this is the first time he has made it past the second round in five years.
He will play either Ian Burns or Tom Ford in the third round.
Elsewhere, China's Yize Wu survived a late fightback from Fergal O'Brien to win 5-3 and secure a spot in the third round.
World number 35 Liang Wenbo also progressed after beating Duane Jones in a 5-4 thriller. Wenbo recovered from two frames down to lead 4-2 before Jones forced a decider. Wenbo took it for a place in round three.
Sijun Yuan won another thriller against Stuart Carrington. The underdog fought back from 2-0 down to eventually force a decider and take that match.
Yet another match went the distance as Junxu Pang lost to Si Xu 5-4, Xu throwing away a three-frame lead.
And Patrick Fraser beat 5-3 Jiankang Zhang for a place in the last-64
Ricky Walden beat Welsh veteran Matthew Stevens 5-1 with four consecutive frames, kickstarted with a break of 114, and then a 93, before winning the final frame with a 50 break.
The experienced Martin Gould beat Louis Heathcote 5-3 after going 3-2 down. In the final three frames he put down a 60, 59 and then 56 for the win. Ali Carter cruised past Sean Maddocks with a 5-1 win.
Tom Ford made it through to the next round as he defeated Ian Burns 5-3. Anthony McGill crushed Hossein 5-0 while Mitchel Mann enjoyed a whitewash over Thepchaiya Un-Nooh.
Neil Robertson cruised by Alfie Burden late in the day with four centuries in a 5-0 whitewash. Shaun Murphy was sent packing by Noppon Saengkham, and Denmark's Kurt Maflin won 5-4 against Andrew Higginson.
