John Higgins completes sensational Ronnie O'Sullivan whitewash

John Higgins defeated Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-0 in a sensational performance in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Open.
Higgins sunk the first red of the match but both players were guilty of silly mistakes early on and eventually O'Sullivan had to sit and watch as his opponent cleared up the opening frame following his error on a red.
In the second Higgins continued to miss reds of varying difficulty but O'Sullivan failed to capitalise as he was too weak on an attempt on the blue and then accidentally potted the cue ball.
Higgins eventually sunk a red and he took control of the frame, knocking in the first century of the match to double his lead.
By this stage the Wizard was in full flow and he after O'Sullivan's break in the third he didn't let his opponent back to the table.
He hit in his second consecutive century to take a commanding 3-0 lead.
In the fourth an epic safety battle was finally broken following a mistake by Higgins but under pressure O'Sullivan couldn't pot the red to the middle pocket.
Higgins took advantage with his third century in a row to leave O'Sullivan four down at the interval.
Any hopes of an O'Sullivan comeback were dashed when Higgins won the first frame after the break, completing an incredible victory.
Higgins will face Neil Robertson in the final after 'The Thunder from Down Under' beat Xiao Guodong 5-4 in the first quarter-final.
Judd Trump is also through after beating Stephen Maguire 5-2 and he will face the winner of the match between Ricky Walden and Cao Yupeng.
