Reanne Evans made history as the first woman to compete on television in the final stages of a world ranking event – but she was unable to defeat Jimmy White in their one-frame Shoot Out.

The 11-time world champion had opportunities, but ultimately succumbed 54-26 in the one-frame event in Watford.

Elsewhere, Kyren Wilson made an enthralling comeback against Ian Burns in the evening’s opening match.
Wilson trailed by 60 points at one stage, but fought back to claim a tense 63-62 win which culminated in a minute-long safety battle on the final black.
Barry Hawkins beat Simon Lichtenberg 68-7, Alan McManus downed Sanderson Lam 55-37 and Jimmy Robertson crushed Zhang Jiankang 72-1.

WHAT IS THE SHOOT OUT?

The Shoot Out is a unique tournament which sees all matches played in a single frame and lasting a maximum of ten minutes. There is a shot clock of 15 seconds for the first five minutes and ten seconds for the last five.
