Judd Trump overpowered an error-strewn Kyren Wilson in the Masters first round with a 6-2 win that probably flattered last year's finalist.

In what had been billed a grudge match due to the apparent enmity between the players, Trump ran out an easy victor with Wilson making far too many unforced errors in falling 5-0 behind.
World number five Trump made breaks of 128, 58 and 81 in dominating the first five frames of a match that lasted two hours and 15 minutes.

Wilson - who lost to 10-6 to Mark Allen in last year's final - halted the bleeding with 73 before pinching the seventh frame on the black but a rapid 72 from Trump finally quelled any hopes of an unlikely recovery.

Former UK champion Trump will face Mark Selby in the quarter-finals after the world number one produced a peak performance with runs of 115, 95, 125, 133 and 96 in a 6-2 win over former UK champion Stephen Maguire.
The Scotsman did well to pinch the first and fifth frames with Selby performing at the peak of his powers before a packed crowd at the London venue.
Selby won the Masters in 2008, 2010 and 2013, and will fancy his chances of a fourth title on this level of performance.
Maguire did little wrong in his first appearance at the sport's biggest invitational event in two years, but was forced to sit and admire Selby's technique for large swathes of the evening.
