The Masters rolls into Alexandra Palace on January 6. Defending champion Yan Bingtao kicks things off against Mark Williams on Sunday from 14:00 with Neil Robertson headlining the evening session. John Higgins takes to the baize on Monday – against Anthony McGill - and Ronnie O’Sullivan takes on Jack Lisowski on Tuesday. Judd Trump faces Mark Allen in the early match on Wednesday.

Yan Bingtao beat John Higgins in the final of the 2021 edition of the Masters. His defence fell at the first hurdle against two-time champion Mark Williams. John Higgins headlined Monday's coverage, pitting his wits against Zhao Xintong.

What is the format?
The Masters is an invitational tournament for the top 16 players in the world. There are, therefore, eight first-round matches player over the first four days followed two days of quarters and then the semi-finals and final are played over Saturday and Sunday. All matches are best-of-11 until the final which is best-of-19.
