Judd Trump is out of the Welsh Open after losing 4-1 to Noppon Saengkh in the second round with Ding Junhui going down by the same scoreline to Liam Highfield.
World number three Trump was never ahead against the world number 58 from Thailand while Ding cut a frustrated figure only three days after losing 10-3 to Ronnie O'Sullivan in the World Grand Prix final.
He made a break of 61 to restore parity at 1-1 after world number 69 Highfield had opened with a 62 before the Swindon player won the final three frames to progress to the last 32.
Noppon enjoyed runs of 98 and 80 on his way to ousting Trump, who won the second frame without ever threatening to overrun his unheralded opponent.
