Brendan Moore will officiate his third World Championship final later this month before hanging up his snooker gloves after a 19-year career on the green baize. Moore is set to make the move to pool, but is well aware of the prestige when he takes charge of the sport's biggest match. “I am getting emotional now even thinking about it," said Moore, who also refereed the 2014 and 2018 world finals.

Referee Brendan Moore is set to swap snooker for pool after taking charge of his third world snooker final at the Crucible Theatre later this month.
The 51-year-old Sheffield match official will finish up in his home city after overseeing the sport's biggest match on Sunday April 30 and Monday 1 May.
He also officiated the showpiece in 2014 and 2018 after beginning his elite career in 2004, but this will be his first final since the death of his father Derek.
“I’m quite an emotional person anyway and I’m not afraid to put my heart on my sleeve. It will be a bittersweet moment," said Moore, who is set to become a tournament director for Matchroom Pool.
"What a way to finish, you can’t go out on a higher match than the world final and it will be my third.
“I am getting emotional now even thinking about it. Walking out for the very last time will be a surreal experience, especially with my dad not being there.
"I won’t let the situation get the better of me though, I will do the job and then whatever comes after comes. I’m looking forward to a new chapter and a new challenge.”
