Latest scores and results from the World Seniors Snooker Championship in 2023. Three-time winner Jimmy White is looking to avenge his defeat to Lee Walker in last year’s final, while Stephen Hendry, Darren Morgan and Mark Davis are also in a legend-packed field. Here is all you need to know ahead of the last 16 clashes starting on Wednesday.
After a drama-packed two weeks at the World Championship, it’s the turn of the seniors to provide more thrills and spills at the Crucible.
The World Seniors Snooker Championship takes place from 3-7 May at the iconic venue in Sheffield, where some greats of the game will go head-to-head.
Lee Walker comes in as the defending champion, after defeating Jimmy White 5-4 in last year’s final, and his title defence gets underway against Gerard Greene.
Three-time World Seniors champion and Eurosport analyst White is up against Philip Williams in the first round.
Nine nationalities are represented in the 16-player field, including Scottish seven-time world professional champion Stephen Hendry, who is up against former Seniors champion Darren Morgan.
Former junior, amateur and professional championship winner Ken Doherty, 2017 champion Peter Lines, 2019 winner Joe Johnson, Maltese legend Tony Drago and 2016 champion Mark Davis are also among the contenders.
