Cai makes halfpipe history

Cai Xuetong wrote her name in the records books by becoming the first person to win five Snowboard World Cup halfpipe crystal globes.
China’s Cai, 25, topped the podium at the final event of the 2018-19 season at Mammoth Mountain, in California, to seal the fifth halfpipe World Cup title of her career.
A sparkling run that totted up 89.25 points saw her come top of the pile, with Japan's Sena Tomita (85.25) and Switzerland's Verena Rohrer (77.00) second and third respectively.
Queralt Castellet of Spain finished second in the halfpipe standings behind Cai while Rohrer took third spot.
Meanwhile, Yuto Totsuka rounded off his procession to the men's halfpipe title with victory at Mammoth Mountain.
Totsuka's second run earned 95.75 and propelled him to glory, with Switzerland's Patrick Burgener (91.75) second and Canada’s Derek Livingston (86.00) third.
Totsuka claimed the crystal globe, with countryman Ruka Hirano finishing second in the men's halfpipe standings while Switzerland’s Jan Scherrer was third.
