Shaun White lays down perfect run to take Snowmass World Cup victory

The two-time Olympic and 13-time X Games champion notched a perfect 100 points in his third and final run in Colorado, showing the world that even though he has not won a major title since 2013, he is still a force to be reckoned with.

After scores of 22.75 and 63.75 in his first two runs, the pressure was on home rider White heading into the final round, and he duly delivered with a stunning run down the pipe.

Second was Australia's Scotty James with 96.25, while Japan's Yuto Totsuka was third on 94.50 points, just 0.5 ahead of America's Jake Pates.

That result leaves White third in the halfpipe World Cup standings, while Totsuka is second on 2200 points, 600 ahead of the American, and Ayumu Hirano leads the way on 2800 – the score that also sees him top the overall freestyle standings.

In the women's competition Spain's Queralt Castellet won with a score of 91.50, again laid down on her third and final run.

America closed out the rest of the podium with Chloe Kim on 88.75 points and Maddie Mastro third on 87.25.

That second place for Kim, added to two victories earlier in the season, keeps her at the top of the halfpipe standings, with Mastro 800 points behind in second and fellow American Kelly Clark in third, a further 100 back.

Kim also leads the overall freestyle standings, just 40 points ahead of big air and slopestyle rider Miyabi Onitsuka.
