Chloe Kim was in sparkling form as she topped qualifying in the women's halfpipe on Monday in PyeongChang.
The 17-year-old demonstrated why she is such a prodigious talent as she recorded a score of 95.50 to top the scoresheet.
Kim, a four-time gold medalist at the X Games, is widely tipped to win the event with the final on Tuesday.
The Korean-American world number one stated her gold-medal winning potential with a solid 91.50 in her first run before posting the best score of the day in her second run.
Kim scored almost eight points more than her nearest rival Jiayu Liu of China. However, Liu wasn’t focussing solely on the teenage sensation ahead of the final.
"There are lots of great athletes in this event," said Liu, who is competing in her third Olympics. "It is going to come down to who can do something special on the day."
Kim's compatriots Arielle Gold and Kelly Clark, a three-time Olympic medallist, almost did not join her in the final but did just enough to claim the final two qualifying spots in 11th and 12th respectively.
