Olympic champions Dajing and Schulting safely through heats at Short Track World Cup

Olympic champion Wu Dajing was fastest in the men's 500m heats on the opening day of the ISU Short Track World Cup in Salt Lake City.

The Chinese speedster finished his heat in 39.944 seconds, almost half a second faster than any of his opponents in America.
Elsewhere Dutch Olympic champion Suzanne Schulting negotiated her opening round safely, winning her heat of the women's 500m in 43.399 seconds.
Her teammate Lara van Ruijven also topped her heat, winning in 44.675 seconds.
Japanese teenager Kazuki Yoshinaga was among those to secure safe passage in the men's 1500m along with teammate Hiroki Yokoyama.
Meanwhile Hungary, China and Canada all won their respective heats in the men's 5000m relay.
The first finals at the Utah Olympic Oval will take place later today with the 1500m and 1000m being contested by the men and women as well as the 2000m mixed relay finale.
