Forget Vallteri Bottas, here's the guy Ferrari need to replace Kimi Raikkonen

It's a story we've never really thought about until now, as this footage of a well-heeled Italian test driving  a Ferrari F430 came across the World of Sport desk.

The chap in question was barrelling along a single carriageway road in Italy, burning up the local passers-by pootling along at normal speeds. (Which in Italy probably still means 80mph+ in all but the most traffic-ridden cities.) 

Deciding to overtake one of these slowcoaches, he put his foot down, pulled out... and came within inches of causing a horrific head-on collision. But he didn't, actually, showing amazing skill to swerve back across the road. Great skills, great nerve. Maybe he'd make a good F1 star after all? And with Kimi Raikkonen set to be replaced at the end of the season, there's a spot going free...

The driver's relief is palpable as he wipes his brow - but our main thought on watching this was for the car salesman. Despite coming within inches of retirement to the Great Showroom in the Sky, he chuckles, gives his prospective client a big thumbs-up, and carries on.

Now there's a guy who's earning his commission.
