Chaz Davies fended off Jonathan Rea to take victory in Race 2 of the World Superbikes championship third round after a ding-dong battle in Aragon.
The Welshman, who took his seventh victory at the circuit, was trailing Yamaha's Michael van der Mark and Rea but assumed the lead after the Dutchman crashed out with 11 laps remaining and the reigning champion could not stop a passing move.
The Ducati rider and Kawasaki man swapped the lead a few times with just a handful of laps to go, but Davies held on with Rea making an uncharacteristic mistake on the final lap to effectively give the win to his rival.
Marco Melandri, Davies' team-mate, completed the podium while Kawasaki's Tom Sykes finished sixth after another testing weekend.
The result means Davies cuts Rea's lead at the top of the standings to 12 points.
